BIBLE MEDITATION: ?But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister.? Matthew 20:26

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: In Jesusí day, the pagan Gentile princes had many servants ? this was a mark of their greatness. To be great in God?s eyes, on the other hand, we are to be servants. Do you want to be great? Then, minister to others. There are some people who are great because they have servants. That is the pagan way. Jesus said that the Christian way of greatness is not measured by the number of servants, but by how many men he serves. Now, don?t miss this point. Jesus did not say for us not to be great. He said, ?Be great, but just be certain that your greatness is measured in God?s economy.? That is sanctified ambition.

ACTION POINT: It?s time to look at your life and ask yourself, ?How am I spending my time? Is it mostly on myself, or am I ministering to othersí? Is there balance in your life ? loving God and loving others as you love yourself? Talk to God about the answer you get. Ask for His forgiveness if He reveals any selfishness within you. And ask Him to give you opportunities to be His minister.
